Prime Minister Mohammed S. Al-Sudani has inaugurated the City of Refineries Housing Complex in the Baiji District of Salah al-Din Province. This complex, comprising 1,178 residential units, has been rebuilt after its destruction by ISIS.
According to the Prime Minister, the city has been fully restored with complete services and infrastructure, addressing the displacement of oil refinery employees who have now returned to their homes. He emphasized that this milestone reflects the region’s restored stability, security, and the definitive end of terrorist threats.
The reconstruction project, conducted under the Prime Minister’s direct supervision, also included the rehabilitation of essential civil facilities, such as schools and kindergartens, to cater to the residents’ needs.
Additionally, Al-Fityan Company for General Contracts Ltd has secured a contract with the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) to construct 36 housing units in Fallujah District, Anbar Province. Similarly, Baher Alshamal Co. Ltd. has been awarded a contract by UNOPS for the construction of 30 housing units in Sinjar, specifically in Hardan and Dahoula villages in Ninewa Province.
