President Barham Salih received Turkish Minister of Trade Ruhsar Pekcan and her accompanying delegation, at the presidential office in Baghdad on Thursday, according to a presidential statement.
Salih asserted during the meeting the necessity of the economic integration and the development of infrastructure linkages as a way to achieve peace, security, and prosperity among the countries of the region.
He referred to the importance of enhancing and expanding the level of trade exchange between Iraq and Turkey, as well as the Turkish companies’ contribution to the reconstruction of Iraq and the country’s benefiting from their expertise in various areas, thus ensuring the revitalization of the Iraqi economy and help in providing employment opportunities.
For her part, Pekcan touched on the taken Iraqi measures on Turkish exports to Iraq. She also highlighted the importance of expanding the prospects of cooperation in all fields and in way that serves the interests of the two friendly people.
