Contracts worth $152M (SAR 570m) for 26 water and sewage projects across the Saudi Arabia have been signed by the Ministry of Water and Electricity, Saudi Press Agency reports. Abdullah bin Abdulrahman, Minister of Water and Electricity, said the contracts include completion and upgrading of water networks in Hail city totaling $25.3m (SAR 95m) within a 30 month deadline; implementation of sewage networks in Jouf region totaling $17.5m with completion due in 36 months; and implementation of a water transportation line from the purification plant at Wadi Bish Dam to Raith, totaling $17.1m .
Construction of water projects and storage tanks in the Eastern Province will cost $15.8m and be complete in 24 months.
Phase two of the sewage networks in Hail City will cost $14.7m and will complete in 24 months, while treated sewage water transportation lines and inter-city networks in Najran city will cost $12.9m and has a completion deadline of 24 months.
Other contracts include procurement of water consumption rationalization equipment in Riyadh region totaling $7.6m; implementation of sewage projects and related works in Ahsa region costing $3.6m with completion due in 12 months; and operation and maintenance of $3.3m of water projects in Mahd Province over a three-year period.
Implementation of water networks across rural areas in Madinah region will cost $6.4m and also take three years to complete, while construction of a main water control center in Jazan city will cost $3.1m and be finished within 12 months.
