Saudi Arabia's state-owned National Water Co. plans to launch water projects in Riyadh city worth 2.1 billion Saudi riyals ($561.8 million), Saudi-based Al Riyadh daily reports, citing an executive.
They include a project to drill new wells and to set up treatment plants for drinking water with a total capacity of 150,000 cubic meters a day, Loay Al Musallam, the company's chief executive, was quoted as saying by the newspaper.
National Water Co. also plans to transport water to the Saudi capital at an estimated cost of SAR700 million, the daily cites Mr. Musallam as saying.
