Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Tourism, Ahmed Al-Khateeb, announced support for 17 tourism projects valued at more than SAR 3.5 billion ($933 million) during his visit to Al-Ahsa Governorate. The visit is part of his broader tour across the Kingdom, coinciding with the Saudi winter events calendar.
During meetings with investors and entrepreneurs, Al-Khateeb highlighted key investment opportunities in the tourism sector and reaffirmed the ministry’s commitment to offering comprehensive support and facilities to encourage private sector participation in this growing industry.
He noted that Al-Ahsa’s tourism ecosystem is expanding rapidly, with the 17 new projects set to add over 1,800 hotel rooms. These initiatives aim to capitalize on Al-Ahsa’s unique cultural and natural attractions, positioning it as a leading tourist destination in both Saudi Arabia and the wider region.
As part of his tour, the minister visited the Radisson Blu Hotel in Al-Ahsa, a project supported by the Tourism Development Fund. The hotel spans over 10,000 square meters, features more than 180 rooms, and represents an investment exceeding SAR 200 million.
Al-Khateeb praised the hotel as a model for integrating international luxury with local authenticity, embodying the distinct charm and heritage of Al-Ahsa.
