President of the Association of Banks in Lebanon, Salim Sfeir, met with Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Wang Kejian, at the embassy headquarters, with talks touching on “historic economic and trade relations between Lebanon and China, and ways to develop them in the interest of the two countries, especially through the exchange of economic experiences, the activation of trade exchange between the two countries and finding the means to bolster it.”
In this context, the President of the Association of Banks asked the Chinese ambassador to “provide his country with a line of credit to be placed at the disposal of Lebanon through the Lebanese banks, in order to support the import from China to Lebanon, in accordance with economic and trade agreements signed between the two countries.”
During the meeting, the Chinese ambassador extended an official invitation to Sfeir to participate in the economic forum scheduled to be held in Shanghai in the first week of November.
