Advanced Conferences & Meetings (ACM) proudly launched the 3rd Annual Future Drainage & Stormwater Networks Qatar on Monday at City Centre Rotana Hotel Doha, Qatar. This event constitutes a platform to discuss the progress updates and future opportunities arising from the implementation of Qatar’s drainage, sewage and stormwater networks masterplan.
The 3rd Annual Future Drainage & Stormwater Networks Qatar brought together government authorities, consultants and contractors working in Qatar’s stormwater and drainage infrastructure projects including Ashghal’s LRDP.
The conference started with the opening remarks of the chairman Dr. Anna Grichting Solder from Qatar University followed by many exciting presentations among which we can mention: “2017 Upcoming Project: Musaimeer Pumping Station and Outfall Project” by Tim Kelly from Public Works Authority Ashghal and Mike Hall from CDM Smith, “Drainage and stormwater management into the future” by Sam Murdock from Byrne Lobby partners, “The idea of sustainable storm water management solutions” by Andreas Amft from Enregis, “Sustainable Drainage: Designing landscapes with TSE and Storm Water” by Dr. Anna Grichting Solder from Qatar University, “Performance of arch shaped geocellular structures designed for soil structure interaction” by Vivek Sharma from Stormtech, “Sustainable urban drainage systems (SUDS) management practices and facilities” by Francois-Xavier Basselot from Atkins.
The conference provided informative panel discussions on the development of the projects across the country from each consultant, and case studies on environmentally green drainage and storm water systems in education city and on utilizing next generation technology to pinpoint salt water infiltration.
The first day of the 3rd Annual Future Drainage & Stormwater Networks Qatar conference created the perfect platform for the attendees to build relations, exchange ideas and seize business opportunities throughout the ACMi+ interface that allowed for many networking breaks which created a dynamic, efficient and relevant learning environment.
The 3rd Annual Future Drainage & Stormwater Networks Qatar was held with the participation of Enregis, Eco, StormTech, WT Burden, Advances Pipes & Casts Co, Electroscan Inc, WaterMaster, HWM, Polypipe, Action and Govind Steel Company ltd.
Day two (December 6th) of the conference will host speakers from Public Works Authority Ashghal, Abu Dhabi Municipality, Bennett Jones, Watermaster, Faithful+Gould, Arab Engineering Bureau, MWH now part of Stantec and will feature different case studies and a panel discussion.
