With the goal of developing hotels in Qatar, Minor Hotels' Tivoli Hotels & Resorts has begun operating the 9-building Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels in Doha. Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels, which is one of the many assets managed by Katara Hospitality, will now be known as Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli.
Tivoli and Katara joined the two brands in order to enhance the development of the local hospitality sector and contribute towards the economic diversification, as envisioned in the Qatar National Vision 2030. Within the Souq Waqif, Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli is close to Doha’s Hamad International Airport and major business hubs, including the New Msheireb Business and the Bank Street.
In addition to Souq Waqif Boutique Hotels by Tivoli in Qatar, the brand has a portfolio of 12 hotels–10 in Portugal and two in Brazil. This year has seen significant investment in a number of the brand’s properties, including multimillion-Euro refurbishments at both the flagship Lisbon property Tivoli Avenida Liberdade and Tivoli Carvoeiro in the Algarve. In addition, Tivoli Oriente in Lisbon, Tivoli Marina Vilamoura in the Algarve and the two São Paulo and coastal Bahia properties in Brazil have all been refurbished.
Tivoli Hotels & Resorts is part of the Global Hotel Alliance, an international alliance of over 35 hotel chains, which enrolls guests in the Discovery loyalty program. With more than 10 million members, this program gives cardholders local experiences, special privileges and personalized services at almost 550 hotels worldwide.
