In its 12th consecutive year Project Qatar 2015 will open its doors for regional and international construction industry professionals from 4 – 7 May at the Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC). The International Construction Technology & Building Materials Exhibition has grown to be Qatar's most important exhibition for highlighting the latest products and services needed for Qatari's fast growing construction sector and attracts key buyers and industry leaders looking for the most up-to-date technology and state-of-the art equipment available on the market.
Within this innovative environment ACM – Advanced Conferences & Meetings – has placed its first edition of the Future BIM Implementation Qatar. The conference will address the growing use of BIM management and BIM technologies. The program will focus on demonstrating the value of BIM in construction and infrastructure projects through a series of case-study presentations, discussions and speakers sharing their varied experiences of BIM Implementation.
With René Schumann on the advisory board, Qatar's leading BIM consultant HOCHTIEF ViCon has advised ACM on the conference content from day one. ViCon's vast BIM expertise is due to more than 10 years project work on more than 400 projects worldwide. For the past years the company has been involved in several large scale projects in Qatar: the Lusail City Development, Barwa Commercial Avenue, Metro (Green and Red) lines, Doha express ways and many more. According to the slogan "Build digitally first" ViCon provides optimized processes, project specific standards, full time consultants on site and software-neutral solutions.
Christoph Weber, the Managing Director of ViCon Qatar, sees the conference as a great exchange opportunity for the industry: "We (ViCon) are looking forward to both; learning from our colleagues, and we are ready to share our know-how. We started implementing BIM in Qatar in 2007, and we know what's needed. Robert Grys will talk about our general approach to BIM implementation plans, and Marcus Rowsell will showcase the Lusail City implementation. I'm convinced we will be able to provide direct insight and direct solutions to all seeking them."
ACM's Managing Director Tom Gore is equally excited about the first edition of the Future BIM Qatar: "We are busy making sure there is a fantastic audience on-site and we are getting a very positive response in Qatar. We aim to deliver a first class conference for the BIM sector."
